Self-care Saturday #2

Self care Saturday is a collection of articles I decided to start when I am feeling good. This way, I can share with you what works great with my mental health, and what doesn’t. It is a great way to also get you to know me a little better, since I am not the most open person out there. WIhtout further a-do, here are the things that made me feel good this week.

Trying out a new recipes

Banana milk coffee

I found the recipe on the blog Inside the Rustic kitchen which I love to follow, since they always share delicious recipes. I wanted to make a new kind of coffee latte but didn’t have any ingredients, so I checked for recipes allowing me to do something with just a small amount of stuff. This one was delicious, and I will definitely use it again. To do mine, I mix a small banana with some soy milk. Then I brew my coffee on my Italian coffee maker, and poor it on a glass. Then I add and if I am feeling extra, I put some nice whipped cream on top. Then… Voilà!

Chickpea curry

This one I found in one of my Vegetarian cooking books! It is quite simple to make. You will need some chickpeas, some canned tomatoes, garlic, a teaspoon of fresh ginger, coconut milk, spices to your taste (I used curcuma, curry, coriander and some cumin). In a large pan or a wok, poor some oil and cook the garlic and ginger with the spices, until golden. Then, add the drained chickpeas and tomatoes, and the coconut milk. Put on low heat and bring the mix to a simmer. One it is done, you can taste it to add salt and pepper to your taste. Serve with rice or pastas!

Reading outdoors

A few years ago, I wasn’t an outside person, at all. I used to spend all my time inside, reading inside, writing inside, meeting friends inside. But I thing the pandemic changed all of us in certain ways. For me, it is my new love for the outdoors. Once the sun is here, and as long as I am the time, I’ll just go outside and read all afternoon in the heat.

Rewatching one of my favourite anime

Attack on Titan

For some reason, I didn’t watch anything after the episode 13 of the third season. But some weeks ago, I got my dear boo into it, so we watch it together now, whenever we get the chance to. I isn’t always easy to find the time, but it is always a highlight of my weeks, and I will be forever thankful for it.

Here it is for this week, it is all about the little things, because it is the ones you should focus on. Not the big failures, not the huge ass victories coming your way, but every single step towards it. I hope you had a nice week, and some cool highlights! Have a nice weekend,
