What is it? / Qu’est-ce que c’est ?
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. (via That Artsy Reader Girl‘s blog). Click on a cover to reach the Goodreads page of a book!
Today’s theme: Funny book titles!
You might know, I am a big fan of super-long-book-titles. Part of it because I do find them very funny! Here are my personal ten favourites, in no particular order. What I find funny can be the title itself, or a personal story behind it, or even the idea of it! Have you read one of those?
What I find very funny about this one is the way people reacted to it. When you read the book – which explains actually why a lot of women say they hate men – you understand how important it was that this was the main title of the book.
I loooove this title, and it is very funny as well when you know the story. Because it is the actual idea the main character has of love, what he dreams of.
I ADORE this one – yes, I am going to say that about every book on this list, be prepared. What is funny about this book is that it defines the whole book, without giving anything away. One of my favourite poem collections.
This one is just funny, no explanation. But when you know the story and the characters, it is even more funny. A part of it is mocking one of the characters, and that’s amazing.
Very funny because it tells a lot about the story, but that’s also something you will never hear in the mouth of a doctor… And that’s a doctor memoir. So clever (no irony here, this is amazing).
Come on, try to pronounce it out loud. Weetzie Bat. Weetzie Bat. Weetzie Bat. Tell me you didn’t laugh, I promise (yes, I am very easily impressed).
Those I haven’t read – yet?
